According Flightglobal.com, Boeing P-8 will be ready to move to the US Navy's Patuxent River test facility in six months, representing a further delay to the originally scheduled ferry flight.
The aircraft-maker was originally planning to have the test aircraft's ferry flight to the Maryland naval base in September last year, but previously delayed the trip to the first quarter. The first two aircraft T1 and T2 are now in Seattle doing flight tests. Boeing says the first two aircraft could be sent to Patuxent River earlier but the US Navy needs more time to get its test facility ready. The P-8 is a multi-mission maritime aircraft. The US Navy has ordered 117 and Boeing is also working to deliver the P-8 to India.
