Alenia Aeronautica ha entregado los dos primeros C-27J de transporte de un total de un pedido de siete a la Fuerza Aérea Rumana.
Los aviones fueron pedidos en diciembre de 2007 y serán destinados al 901 escuadrón de transporte táctico y estratéico, con base en el aeropuerto de Bucarest, y sustituirá a los Antonov An-24.

Alenia Aeronautica has delivered the first two C-27J transport of an eventual seven C-27J transport aircraft to the Romanian Air Force.
The aircraft were ordered in December 2007 and will be allocated to the 901st Strategic Transport Squadron at Bucharest-Otopeni Airport, replacing older Antonov An-24 transporters. The new C-27Js will be used for transporting troops, goods and medicines, medical evacuations (MEDEVAC), dropping paratroopers, search and rescue, logistic re-supply and humanitarian assistance.
