El CVN 65, USS Enterprise, primer portaaviones nuclear en el mundo, ha zarpado de los astilleros, Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipyard en Virginia para comenzar con las pruebas de mar antes de ser devuelto al servicio, tras una extensa revisión.
Tras su finalización, el ‘Big E’ empezará a preparar su vigesimoprimer crucero en 48 años de servicio, uno de los últimos, ya que será dado de baja en 2013.

CVN 65, the US Navy’s USS Enterprise and the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, departed Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipyard in Virginia to begin sea trials before being delivered back to the fleet after an extensive refit.
After completion of the sea trials, the ‘Big E’ will begin preparing for full-scale flight operations for its 21st deployment in 48 years of service. It is likely to be one of its last, as the ship is due to be decommissioned in 2013.
