El gobierno israelí ha aprobado la compra de 20 Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighters por un valor de unos 2.750 millones de dólares.
Se permitirá a Israel la instalación de equipos electrónicos propios y se han obtenido importante contraprestaciones industriales.
Pilotos israelíes comenzarán su entrenamiento en el F-35 en 2015, comenzando las entregas en 2016. La versión contratada es la convencional F-35A.

The Israeli cabinet has formally approved the purchase of 20 Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighters for the nation’s air force. The value of the deal will be around $2.75 billion.
The decision will allow Israel to instal its own electronic warfare equipment
Israeli pilots are expected to begin training on the new type in 2015, with the first aircraft deliveries to take place the following year. The service’s interest is in the conventional take-off and landing F-35A.
