El ejército israelí prohibe el acceso a las redes sociales a sus soldados mientras están desplegados, para prevenir posibles amenazas. La medida solo se aplicará cuando las tropas se encuentren en su base, ya que se pondría en riesgo los equipos informáticos de la misma.
Algunos soldados han publicado fotografías y videos de ellos mismos maltratando a Palestinos, hasta el punto de que una operación tuvo que ser cancelada al publicarse los detalles en Facebook por un soldado.

The Israeli military is banning soldiers from using social media sites while on base in an attempt to prevent security leaks and embarrassing videos from going viral.
Lt. Col. Gadi Abudi said Tuesday that the idea was to prevent sensitive information from reaching its "enemies" via Facebook, Twitter and other popular sites.
Abudi said the ban applies only when troops are on base - where their online habits could put military computers at risk. Mobile phone use will also be restricted.
Israel's military has suffered a series of online embarrassments.
Soldiers have posted pictures on Facebook of themselves mistreating detained Palestinians and dancing on patrol. In one case, the military had to cancel an operation after a soldier revealed plans on his Facebook page.
