Australia Requests Sale of 350 AIM-9-X-2

The US State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Australia for AIM 9X-2 Sidewinder missiles.
The Government of Australia has requested a possible sale of up to 350 AIM-9X-2 Sidewinder, 35 AIM-9X Special Air Training Missiles, 95 AIM-9X-2 Captive Air Training Missiles, 22 AIM-9X-2 Tactical Guidance Units, 19 CATM-9X-2 Guidance Units, 3 DATM-9X, containers, test sets and support equipment, spare and repair parts and technical documents, personnel training and training equipment.
These missiles will be used on the RAAF’s F/A-18 aircraft and eventually in F-35 aircraft.
The principal contractor will be Raytheon. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.
