The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is toying with an idea of having an aircraft carrier produce its own jet fuel while at sea.
Navy scientists have managed to find a way to extract CO2 and produce H2 from seawater using an electrochemical acidification cell.
The gases are then converted into hydrocarbons that can be used to produce jet fuel.
