La Real Armada de Malaysia(RMN) planea disponer de hasta 18 buques de guerra en us esfuerzo para igualar sus efectivos a otras armadas de la Región.
Seis buques serán construídos bajo el plan quinquenal nº 10, y otros seis lo serán en el plan quinquenal nº 11.
La RMN dispone de seis buques de combate actualmente.

The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) plans to have 18 warships in an effort to make the armada competitive to others in the regions, Navy Chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar said.
He said six warships would be built under the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) while the remaining six would be built under the Eleventh Malaysian Plan (11MP).
RMN had six warships of which five had been commissioned while the other would be commissioned by year end.
