Rusia despliega sistemas Pantsyr para proteger bases de lanzamiento de misiles S-400/ Russia deploys Pantsyr-S to protect its S-400 site

La Fuerza Aérea Rusa ha recibido el primer sistema antiaéreo de corto alcance Pantsyr-S el cuál sustituirá poco a poco al Tunguska.
La primera bateria de Pantsyr defenderá al Regimiento 606th de defensa aérea, en Elektrostal, en la zona de Moscú, que fue el primero en recibir los nuevos misiles superficie-aire S-400 de largo alcance.
Este nuevo sistema ha sido diseñado para dar protección de ataques aéreos a unidades militares y zonas industriales estratégicas. El primer prototipo de Pantsyr se fabricó en 1994 pero su desarrollo se ha ido retrasando por falta de fondos.
El programa revivió a principios del 2000, con un pedido de Emiratos Árabes Unidos por 50 Pantsyr-S1.

The Russian air force took delivery of the first Pantsyr-S short-range air-defense systems in March wich will gradually replace the old Tunguska antiaircraft weapons.
The first Pantsyr battery will be deployed to the 606th air-defense regiment in Elektrostal, near Moscow. This regiment became the first to get the new S-400 Triumf long-range SAMs that will now be guarded by the Pantsyrs.
The new air-defense weapon is designed to provide short-range protection from air attack to military units and strategic military and industrial sites. The first Pantsyr prototype was completed in 1994 but the development was almost entirely suspended due to insufficient government funding.
