Los Super Hornet australianos consiguen la capacidad inicial operativa/The latest batch of FA-18F Super Hornets touch down at Amberley
Los Super Hornet F/A-18F de la Real Fuerza Aérea Australiana (RAAF), han conseguido la capacidad inicial operativa, con 12 aviones en la base de RAAF Amberley, 1st Squadron. Recientemente se han recibido cuatro Super Hornet en RAAF Base Amberley, tres de los cuales están equipados para guerra electrónica. El resto de la flota hasta llegar a 24 unidades, será recibido a finales de 2011.

Air Force’s F/A-18F Super Hornets have reached initial operational capability on time and on budget. The latest tranche of four Super Hornets has arrived at RAAF Base Amberley from the United States. Initial operational capability has involved establishing a squadron of twelve aircraft. Air Force’s Number 1 Squadron is the first to operate Australian Super Hornets. Importantly this tranche of aircraft included Australia’s first three Super Hornets to be pre-wired for Growler electronic attack capability. The remainder of Air Force’s fleet of twenty four F/A-18F Super Hornets will be delivered by the end of 2011.
