EUROCPTER SENDS 3 EC-145 FOR EVALUATION FOR US ARMY
Según DefenseNews, Eurocopter enviará a Estados Unidos 3 demostradores de helicópteros EC145 para evaluación por el U.S. Army, para servir como helicóptero de reconocimiento armado.
Se enviarán tres configuraciones, desde la versión desarmada, para mostrar características de vuelo, otra para mostrar la capacidad de carga y otra para mostrar la parte de aviónica. Lockheed Martin es el subcontratista en Estados Unidos.
Eurocopter espera que los requerimientos completso sean publicados por el U.S. Army en la segunda mitad de 2011. El U.S. Army compró el EC145 para su programa "light utility helicopter (LUH)", y lo opera bajo el nombre de UH-72A Lakota, de los que utiliza 90 Unidades . La U.S. Navy también lo tiene bajo pedido, con 5 unidades en servicio hasta la fecha. La producción se realiza en Mississippi.

According DefenseNews Eurocopter will send to the United States this summer three EC145 helicopters fitted out as technology demonstrators as part of its bid for the U.S. Army's armed aerial scout requirement.
Three configurations of the twin-engined aircraft are to be built and will range from an unarmed version to demonstrate the flight domain, a second unit with dummy payloads and a third with full mission equipment including weapon systems integration. Lockheed Martin is the U.S. partner for mission systems.
Eurocopter expects the full request for proposals from the U.S. Army to appear some time in the second half of 2011. The U.S. Army bought the EC145 for its light utility helicopter (LUH) program, and operates the aircraft as the UH-72A Lakota. The U.S. Navy has also ordered the aircraft.
Eurocopter has delivered 95 LUHs, including five to the Navy. Full production of the aircraft is underway in Mississippi.
