Lockheed Martin, ha confirmado a Radio New Zealand que compite en el concurso para entrenar a la Fuerza Aérea de Singapur, en la parte que se lleva a cabo actualmente en Francia por otra compañía. El gobierno de Nueva Zelanda, ha confirmado negociaciones con Lockheed Martin para entrenar a los pilotos en las bases de Ohakea y Whenuapai.Lockheed Martin ya entrena a la Fuerza Aérea de Singapur en Australia. Airways Corporation, que controla el tráfico aéreo en Nueva Zelanda, opina que si se confirma, esto supondrá un gran impulso a la creación de empleo en el sector aeronáutico del país. Se espera la decisión en tres meses. Nueva Zelanda y Singapur han realizado numerosas maniobras conjuntas y el ejército de Singapur, ya utiliza bases neozelandesas.n

Lockheed Martin, has confirmed to Radio New Zealand that the company is competing to run the Fighter Wings course for the Republic of Singapore Air Force, which is currently operated in France.The Government says the global defence contractor Lockheed Martin is in negotiations with the Singaporean air force to train fighter pilots at Ohakea and Whenuapai.Lockheed Martin already runs basic training for the Singaporeans in Australia.The Airways Corporation, responsible for managing air traffic in New Zealand, says that if the deal goes ahead it would stimulate growth in the industry and could create more jobs.
Minister hopes for deal in next three months. Economic Development Minister Gerry Brownlee says the two countries already train together and the Singaporean army uses New Zealand's bases.
