Boeing,Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) and Cobham Mission Systems have delivered a C-130H aerial refuelling tanker to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF).
The delivery actually took place in late February at KHI’s Gifu Works after modification and acceptance for testing - KHI modified the C-130H to incorporate Cobham air-to-air refuelling pods and Boeing-designed modifications affecting the structure, wiring and fuel system.
The tanker will now move onto operational testing with the JASDF and be used for aerial refuelling of the UH-60J search and rescue helicopter fleet.
