Serbia Takes Delivery Of First Of Six MiG-29 Fighters From Russia

A transport plane has delivered two Russian MiG-29 fighter jets to Serbia, the initial shipment of a six-jet deal that could add to East-West tensions in the Balkans.
The warplanes arrived disassembled aboard a massive Antonov An-124 transport plane that landed at a military airport in the Belgrade suburb of Batajnica on October 2.
The MiGs are being provided by Moscow at no charge, but their assembly, repair, and refurbishing costs are expected to near $235 million in total.
The four other jets are set to arrive sometime before October 20, when they are likely to be displayed in Belgrade during a Liberation Day parade. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is scheduled to attend.
In March, Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic, then prime minister and now president, confirmed earlier reports that Russia would provide the six MiG-29 fighters "as a gift."
He added that the planes would enter military service by the end of 2017 after refurbishing and pilot training.
Russia also committed to provide 30 T-72 tanks and 30 BRDM-2 patrol combat vehicles to Serbia for free.
Vucic said on October 2 that Serbia also planned to improve its defenses and has been negotiating with Moscow for the purchase of Russian-made S-300 antiaircraft systems.

Vietnam Receives 2 More Su-30MK2

Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KNAAPO) has delivered 2 more Su-30MK2 multi-role fighter for Vietnam Air Force.
A super-heavy transport aircraft An-124-100M Ruslan from Volga-Dnepr aviation company (Russia) has shipped two new Su-30MK2, bearing number 8589 and 8590 to Vietnam on Tuesday 29/12.
All Su-30MK2 12 aircraft in a deal worth $ 600 million signed in 2013 were produced at the KNAAPO. Plan early handover is scheduled for completion before the end of 2015.
However, according to sources, to the present time, Vietnam has received 8 Su-30MK2 in the contract on. The remaining 4 units will be handed over in 2016.
Eight Su-30MK2 are handed over to Vietnam from bearing number 8583 to 8590. Of which 4 units delivered in 2014 and the next four delivered in 2015, more slowly than originally planned to handover.
Up to now, Vietnam has purchased 36 Russian Su-30MK2 fighters, and has received 32 units. Which is composed of 4 units in the first purchase contract in 2003, 8 the purchase in 2009, 12 in 2010 and the purchase of 12 more aircraft bought in 2013.

Russia Confirmation Four Su-30MK2 Fighters to Vietnam

Vietnam has received 2 Su-30MK2 new in early December and will continue to receive two more aircraft by the end of the month.

Russia completes initial An-124 upgrade programme

Russian company Aviastar-SP has finished the modernisation of six An-124-100 Ruslan 'Condor' strategic transport aircraft for the Russian Air Force.
The sixth An-124 flew to its home base near Sescha on the 24 November. The final aircraft follows the delivery of one upgraded An-124 in 2012, two in 2013 and three in 2014.
The modernisation process has included the upgrade of some aircraft systems in order to maintain/improve their capabilities, increase their reliability and to extend the service life of the aircraft.
The An-124-100 is the largest military transport aircraft in the world and forms the backbone of Russia's Military Transport Aviation (MTA) fleet. The aircraft plays a key role in the transport of heavy military vehicles and cargo, and can also be used as a launch pad for space launchers in some programs.
Serial production of An-124-100 was ceased in 2004. Although some Russian and Ukrainian aerospace companies had been negotiating to revive the serial production of An-124-100 with the ongoing political crisis this is no longer being considered.

Iraq receives first Russian combat aircrafts

The first batch of the Sukhoi of five Su-25 combat aircrafts from Russia has arrived in Iraq on Saturday, to enhance the combat capability of the country’s Air Force.
The aircrafts were delivered to Iraq on board an Antonov-124-100 of the Russian Air Force. Iraq’s Defence Ministry has published on its website a video of unloading. Iraq’s Air Force office said the aircrafts would be used “within next 3-4 days to support combat operations against ISIS (the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant terrorist group).”
The officer said Russian specialises who had arrived in Iraq would provide necessary technical service.

Acaba el repliegue aéreo en Afganistán

Con la llegada este sábado a la base de Torrejón (Madrid) de los últimos tres helicópteros desplegados en Afganistán, concluye el repliegue de las unidades de helicópteros que han operado en Herat durante ocho años, en los que han realizado 6.405 horas de vuelo y casi 12.000 salidas en labores de protección y evacuación médica.
Con la vuelta a España de los helicópteros se habrá culminado el 95 por ciento del repliegue de material de la misión en Afganistán.
El pasado 9 de noviembre aterrizó en la base madrileña un avión Antonov 124,con un Cougar y un Chinook, del Ejército de Tierra, y un Súper Puma, del Ejército del Aire, los tres últimos helicópteros que mantenía la misión española en Afganistán.
Se trata del tercer vuelo procedente de Afganistán para trasladar a suelo español los nueve helicópteros que permanecían en la base de Herat, operados por unidades del Ejército de Tierra y el Ejército del Aire. El pasado lunes llegaron los tres helicópteros de combate «Tigre» desplegados en Afganistán desde el pasado marzo.
Durante su estancia en Afganistán estos helicópteros de ataque llevaron a cabo misiones de apoyo específico a las tropas españolas, como dar seguridad a convoyes de repliegue desde la base de Qala i Naw hasta la base de Herat, labores de reconocimiento y de apoyo a otros contingentes.
Su última misión, el pasado 13 de octubre, puso fin a más de ocho años de actividad de la Unidad de Helicópteros del Ejército de Tierra (ASPUHEL) y del destacamento de Helicópteros del Ejército del Aire de la Fuerza Internacional de Asistencia a la Seguridad (HELISAF). ASPUHEL comenzó a operar en Herat con cuatro helicópteros de transporte AS-532 «Cougar» a principios de 2005, a los que se sumaron en 2007 tres helicópteros de transporte pesado CH-47D «Chinook». Por su parte, HELISAF mantuvo desplegados HD-21 «Superpuma» realizando misiones de evacuación médica.
Quedan Afganistán unidad de apoyo logístico, un avión de transporte Hércules, el hospital Role 2, la unidad PASI que opera los aviones no tripulados y los efectivos que se encargan de la gestión del aeropuerto.

Los helicópteros de ataque ‘Tigre’ desplegados en Afganistán ya están de regreso en España

Los tres helicópteros EC-665 ‘Tigre’ de las Fuerzas Aeromóviles del Ejército de Tierra (FAMET) que España había desplegado en la misión de ISAF regresaron en la pasada madrugada a la base aérea de Torrejón a bordo de un avión de transporte Antonov 124.
Durante su estancia en Afganistán, los helicópteros ‘Tigre’ han completado con éxito las misiones asignadas y han demostrado su operatividad en el apoyo a las operaciones de repliegue del contingente español.

Los ‘Tigre’ llegaron a Afganistán a finales del pasado mes de marzo, y llevaron a cabo misiones de apoyo a las tropas españolas, como dar seguridad a convoyes de repliegue desde la Base de Apoyo Provincial (PSB) de Qala-i-Naw hasta la Base de Apoyo Avanzado (FSB) de Herat, labores de reconocimiento y de apoyo a otros contingentes.

La última misión la realizaron el pasado 13 de octubre y con ella se puso fin a más de ocho años de actividad de la Unidad de Helicópteros españoles del Ejército de Tierra (ASPUHEL) y del destacamento de Helicópteros del Ejército del Aire de la Fuerza Internacional de Asistencia a la Seguridad (HELISAF).

ASPUHEL comenzó a operar en Herat con cuatro helicópteros de transporte AS-532 ‘Cougar’ a principios de 2005, a los que se sumaron en 2007 tres helicópteros de transporte pesado CH-47D ‘Chinook’. Por último en abril de 2013 se desplegaron tres helicópteros de ataque EC-665 ‘Tigre’ que aumentaron de modo significativo las capacidades de la Unidad. Por su parte, HELISAF mantiene desplegados HD-21 Superpuma que han realizado misiones de aéro-evacuación médica.

A California-based aerospace firm is finalizing plans to partner with a Ukrainian aircraft maker to pitch up to three aerial tankers in the U.S. Air Force's multibillion-dollar KC-X competition.
A source said U.S. Aerospace and Antonov plan to enter the four-engine AN-124-100, and a two-engine variant of that airframe known as the AN-122.
