'Unresponsive Aircraft': Plane Crashes After F-15 Chase Over Atlantic, two people have killed

A turboprop plane that stopped responding to radio calls and flew hundreds of miles off course — prompting a chase by two F-15 fighter jets — crashed off the coast of Jamaica on Friday afternoon, NBC News has learned.
The pilot had been spotted “unconscious and slumped over” in the cockpit, U.S. officials told NBC News. NORAD, the joint American and Canadian air command, said on Twitter that the people on board might be suffering from oxygen deprivation.
The plane was registered to Rochester, New York, real estate developer Larry Glazer. He and his wife Jane were the only people on board, their son, Ken, told CNBC.
The plane, a six-seater Socata model TBM-700, took off just before 8:30 a.m. ET from Rochester and was headed for Naples, Florida. The FAA said it stopped responding to radio calls about an hour and a half later.
Fighter jets were dispatched but broke off the trail after the plane entered Cuban airspace. The F-15s "circled around" and resumed the chase as the small plane exited Cuba's territorial waters, officials said.
A map provided by FlightAware, a flight tracking service, put the plane over Cuba, hundreds of miles away from its intended landing point in Naples. Its path sent it toward the eastern end of Jamaica.
Glazer, founder of Buckingham Properties, is a veteran pilot who is president of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association.

The Cuban foreign ministry said the ship was carrying obsolete Soviet-era arms from Cuba for repair in North Korea.
The ship was seized by Panama last week after "undeclared military cargo" was found hidden in a shipment of sugar.
United Nations sanctions prohibit the supply of arms to North Korea in the dispute over its nuclear programme.
A Cuban foreign ministry statement said Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to "peace, disarmament, including nuclear disarmament, and respect for international law".

El CNI vuelve a Cuba al año de la expulsión de todos sus agentes

Un año después de la salida de todos sus agentes, el Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI) vuelve a estar presente en Cuba. El servicio secreto español cuenta con un representante oficial en La Habana y la nueva delegación del CNI será más reducida que la que tenía en mayo de 2009, integrada por cuatro agentes, cuando tuvo que abandonar la isla. Las condiciones del regreso las pactó el director del CNI, el general Félix Sanz, en noviembre pasado.
El origen de la crisis estuvo en la detención del empresario Conrado Hernández,el 14 de febrero de 2009, que mantenía una estrecha amistad con los entonces vicepresidente y ministro de Asuntos Exteriores cubanos, Carlos Lage y Felipe Pérez Roque, que fueron defenestrados el 2 de marzo. El presidente cubano, Raúl Castro, acusó al empresario de informar al CNI de cómo pensaban y actuaban altos cargos del régimen.
Pese a negar estas acusaciones, el CNI optó por retirar a sus agentes en La Habana y el nuevo representante del CNI, ha recibido instrucciones de mantener un "perfil bajo".
