European Union to provide fighter jets to Ukraine

The European Union will provide Ukraine with combat aircraft and weapons worth EUR 500 million. This was announced by the Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security on Facebook with reference to the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, according to Ukrinform. "We're going to provide even fighting jets. We're not talking about just ammunition. We are providing more important arms to go to a war," Borrell told a press conference. 

He added that more lethal aid, worth EUR 500 million, is to be delivered to Ukraine.

European Union may buy Mistral Class French warships built for Russia

The European Union may acquire two Russian warships currently under construction in France.
The possibility comes as the United States and Western Europe tighten economic sanctions against Russia, and Monday's denial of a German defense contractor's delivery of military components to Russia by the German government.
The first of two Mistral-class ships purchased by Russia is nearing completion.
It is an option gaining traction in Paris, after Russia's involvement in Crimea and Ukraine, as well as the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine. British Prime Minister David Cameron called it "unthinkable" his country could sell warships to Russia.
The French government has sought a way out of the contract without harming its shipbuilding industry. The German Navy proposed the EU purchase the ships

Spanish Air Forces Rotate Aircraft Crew In Djibouti

The 33rd Spanish Air Forces Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) crew joins the EU Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia Operation Atalanta. The 32nd and 33rd crew rotations performed their hand over in Djibouti on January 23rd.
Spanish MPRA detachment is composed of 44 people. The aircrew and maintenance members usually join the mission for a two months period.
During the last two months with the EU’s counter-piracy Operation Atalanta, the outgoing personnel of the 32nd rotation, usually based in Palma de Mallorca with the Spanish Air Forces Wing 48, has flown 25 night and day sorties.
With more than 200 flying hours, they have flown over 26.000 nautical miles. This comes up to at least one trip all around the world.
Spanish detachment of the EU Naval Force MPRA “Orion” has been able to fly without cancelling any tasked mission since June 2012. Their contribution to the EU’s counter piracy operation has been of enormous value, and their achievements are based on their outstanding willingness and enthusiasm.

EU states to sign “letter of intent” to boost their air-to-air refueling capacity

EU officials said European states will sign a “letter of intent” at an EU defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels to work together to boost their air-to-air refueling capacity.
The shortcoming was evident during the war in Libya last year. European Defence Agency (EDA), the EU’s defense cooperation arm, is encouraging European states to acquire more refueling pods as a short term measure.

LA BANDERA DE LA UNION EUROPEA ES UN SIMBOLO CRISTIANO

Está confirmado.
