Israeli F-16I pilots Train to Deal Against S-300 System

The Israeli air force has used a bilateral exercise with its Greek counterpart to prepare for apotential situation where it will have to attack Iranian nuclear facilities.
In late April, the service took part in joint training with the Greek air force, which included performing missions against the nation's Russian-made S-300 surface-to-air missile system. The same equipment will soon be supplied to Iran, under a proposed deal with Moscow.
The Israeli and Greek air forces have staged a number of joint exercises over the last few years.
NATO member Greece has been in possession of S-300s since the late 1990s, and is operating the air defence systemfrom a base in Crete. Athens is also negotiating with Russia for the purchase of additional missiles.
According to foreign sources, the Israeli air force has acquired technical data about the long-range surface-to-air missile system, and now its pilots have had a chance to simulate a scenario in which they attack a site heavily protected with the S-300 and other advanced anti-aircraft systems.

Israel has quadrupled its air-strike capacity over the past eight years

New developments in guided weapons such as the SDB-I are enabling the F-15, to carry four guided bombs in place of each unguided bomb it used to carry. This will result in a pair of F-15s carrying over 50 individually targeted guided weapons – more than a full squadron would carry few years ago. Israel has reportedly received the SDB-I in 2008.
At a time when Israel’s Ministry of Defense is striving for cash and the Israel Air & Space Force  is shutting down training due to lack of funding, it is encouraging to listen to the commander of the IASF,  talks about the state of air force and how much it has evolved and strengthened in recent years.
Since 2006 the IAF has quadrupled its strike capability.

Israel Lifts Grounding Order on F-15I, F-16I Fighters

The Israel Air Force IAF has resumed F-15I and F-16I training flights after initial findings from a still-ongoing investigation appear to have ruled out the need for a fleet fix to the Pratt & Whitney engines powering the nation’s frontline fighter force.
An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer described the July 7 crash of the F100-PW-229-powered F-16I as “an extreme freak occurrence” that did not warrant continued grounding of the service’s F-16I and F-15I fighters.
