Italy's defense ministry sees UAV demo

AgustaWestland has demonstrated its Rotorcraft Unmanned Aerial System / Optionally Piloted Helicopter (RUAS/OPH) to the Italian Ministry of Defense.
The company successfully demonstrated remote-controlled operations from a ground station for the modified SW-4 Solo RUAS/OPH single-engine helicopter, developed by AgustaWestland and Poland's PZL-Swidnik.
The SW-4 Solo RUAS/OPH is designed for both manned and unmanned operations. The manned version can perform transport and surveillance missions, while the unmanned model can perform ISR and resupply flights.

PZL-Świdnik completes the delivery of Sokol helicopters to the Philippine Air Force from Lublin Airport



PZL-Świdnik, an AgustaWestland company, is pleased to announce that the last two of eight Sokol helicopters have been delivered to the Philippine Air Force. The Sokols were transported from Lublin Airport to Clark Air Base near Manila on board an An-124 Ruslan large cargo airplane.
The two Sokol helicopters follow the six aircraft delivered to the customer last year. This is the result of a contract signed in 2010, which included eight Sokols.

PZL-Swidnik reveals optionally-piloted 'Solo' rotorcraft




Polish manufacturer PZL-Świdnik has announced plans to fly an unmanned/optionally-piloted version of its single-engined SW-4 helicopter, revealing the development during the 3-6 September MSPO exhibition in Kielce, Poland.

"The maiden flight of the Solo prototype, in a piloted configuration, is expected not later than June 2013," said Nicola Bianco, managing director of the AgustaWestland-owned company. "But we want to fly it earlier."

FILIPINAS COMPRA HELICÓPTEROS PZL/PHILIPINES BUYS POLISH PZL



Según KeyAero.com la Fuerza Aérea Filipina ha hecho un pedido de ocho helicópteros PZL W-3A Sokół a la firma polaca PZL–Świdnik por un valor de unos 48 millones de euros.
El jefe de la Fuerza Aérea dijo que el contrato estaba propuesto desde Mayo, y se espera concretar pronto la compra de tres aviones de transporte ligero junto con la modernización de un C-130H.

According KeyAero.com the Phillippine Air Force has ordered eight PZL W-3A Sokół helicopters from Polish firm PZL–Świdnik in a deal worth P3 billion (€48 million).
Air Force chief told that the deal was proposed as long ago as May last year and that three light airlift aircraft and an upgraded C-130H are also being sought.
