La República Checa invertirá 170 millones de coronas en la modernización de los aviones de vigilancia AWACS de la OTAN y a la vez contribuirá con 90 millones de coronas anualmente para mantener el sistema.

Prague will spend 170 million crowns on modernisation of the NATO AWACS radar planes.
Simultaneously, the Czech Republic will provide an average yearly contribution of 90 million crowns to finance the system's operation and application.

El C-295M declarado operativo con la Fuerza Aérea Checa/ Czech CASAs operational

Cuatro aviones de tranpsorte Airbus Military C-295M han sido declarados operativos con la Fuerza Aérea Checa el pasado 22 de diciembre.
El C-295 sustituye en la Fuerza Aérea Checa al An-26, y sirve en el 242 escuadrón de Transporte, con base en Kbely. Está previsto su traslado a Afganistán en apoyo a ISAF.

Four Airbus Military (CASA) C-295M transport aircraft with the Czech Air Force were declared operational on December 22 at a ceremony at 24 Air Transportation Base, Prague-Kbely.
C-295 is the replacement for ageing An-26 transport fleet.
The aircraft serve with 242 Transport & Special Squadron based at Kbely. The C-295Ms would serve for up to thirty years and will be used in ISAF missions in Afghanistan.

La República Checa se une al programa KC-390/Czechs jump on the KC-390 bandwagon

Recién incorporado Portugal al proyecto de avión de transporte/ cisterna KC-390, Embraer anuncia que la República Checa se ha unido al programa, firmando una carta de intenciones por la compra de dos unidades y participación en la fabricación. El número de pedidos del KC-390 asciende a 54 unidades por cinco países.

Hot on the heels of the Portuguese government signing an agreement to become involved in the Brazilian KC-390 tanker/transport programme, Embraer says that the Czech Republic has now joined the consortium of partners signing a ‘Declaration of Intent’ at a meeting in Prague with the Brazilian Defence Minister, Nelson Jobim.
The Czech government is interested in buying two aircraft as well as being involved in the manufacture of the aircraft. It brings the total orders for the KC-390 to 54 from five nations.

The Czech air force has started fielding EADS CASA C-295M military transports. The first of four airlifters was handed over this week:
The aircraft will replace An-26s. The Czech air force plans to use them for troop transport, logistics tasks, but potentially also medical evacuation.
The An-26s are to be phased out around 2012, with the C-295Ms to be all in-hand by then.
