The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on 14 July that Israel has requested the sale of Raytheon AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles, a move that may be interpreted as a blow to the Israeli company Rafael and its rival Python 5 missile.
The DSCA said the request covered 600 AIM-9X-2 Block II missiles, 50 captive training missiles, four dummy missiles, and associated equipment and support.
