The US Air Force may cut five squadrons of tactical aircraft and reduce the fleet of Lockheed Martin C-130s in service, should a long-term fiscal sequestration policy be implemented.
The cuts to aerial capability could be made at minimal risk. Cuts could affect to aircraft like the Fairchild Republic A-10, Boeing F-15 and Lockheed F-16 - types meant to serve as air superiority, air defence and light strike platforms.
