David's Sling to enter trial period in Israel

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say they are about to deploy the David's Sling air defence system for a trial period, during which two tests will be carried out.
If both tests are successful, the IDF will gradually deploy the system in a full operational capacity to provide Israel with an intermediate layer of air defence to fill the gap that currently exists between the Iron Dome and Arrow systems.
The IAF also plans to link David's Sling to the IDF's Home Front Command.
