Boeing ha anunciado que se ha realizado el primer vuelo del F-15SE Silent Eagle, un F-15E1 convertido, desde el aeropuerto internacional de St. Louis. El vuelo duró 80 minutos y el avión abrió su bodega interna, que contenía un misil AIM-120instrumentado para pruebas. El vuelo se desarrolló según lo planeado, y en las dos próximas semanas se dispararán misiles AIM-120 desde el avión.
El F-15E1 es el primer Strike Eagle, que ha permanecido en Boeing para labores de evaluación.

Boeing’s F-15SE Silent Eagle flight demonstrator aircraft F-15E1 completed its first flight on July 8 from Lambert St. Louis International Airport. During the 80-minute flight the aircraft opened and closed its left-side Conformal Weapons Bay, which contained an AIM-120 Instrumented Test Vehicle (ITV) missile.
Everything about the flight went according to plan. In the next couple of weeks an AIM-120 will be launched from the aircraft.
F-15E1 is modified F-15E-41-MC 86-0183, the first production Strike Eagle that has remained with Boeing for test and evaluation purposes.
