Elbit Systems is negotiating the sale of its Hermes 900 unmanned air system to an additional three countries, with one of these expected to receive its first equipment before the end of this year.
Already operated by the Israeli air force and selected by the Chilean and Colombian armed forces, the Hermes 900 has a maximum take-off weight of 1,100kg (2,425lb), including a 300kg payload. The type is also involved in a competition in Switzerland, along with Israel Aerospace Industries' Heron 1.

The launch of the third Air Force X-37B spaceship, a secret space plane used for classified missions in Earth orbit, has been postponed, officials said.
The liftoff of an Atlas 5 rocket set to carry the robotic X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV-3), which looks like a mini space shuttle, has now been slipped to Nov. 27, pending confirmation that the rocket range can support the launch.

Un militar ha fallecido y otro se encuentra herido grave en el accidente de un avión de combate F-5 (AE9-025) del Ejército del Aire acaecido esta mañana a las 9:47 horas en torno a la base aérea de Talavera la Real (Badajoz).
El aparato tenía programado un vuelo de instrucción cuando ha sufrido una emergencia tras el despegue, lo que le ha provocado la parada del motor izquierdo.
Se trata del segundo siniestro de un avión de combate destinado a la enseñanza de pilotos del Ejército en apenas siete meses,después de que el pasado mes de abril un caza C-101 se estrellara en las cercanías de Alcalá de Henares, cobrándose la vida del piloto y copiloto.

RAF forms second Reaper unit, with UK control
