El Ministerio de Defensa Británico y la Royal Navy, van a comunicar al primer ministro David Cameron, que sería mas económico convertir el planificado portaaviones HMS Prince of Wales, en una "plataforma flotante", sin aviones, en lugar de cancelar el proyecto, como se pretende.
Esto ahorraría 1.000 millones de libras en la construcción y 7.000 millones al no comprar los aviones F-35 para su dotación.

The British Ministry of Defense and the Royal Navy is expected to tell Prime Minister David Cameron that it will be cheaper to turn the planned HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier into a “floating platform” without any planes, rather than scrap the project altogether.
Turning it into a platform to ferry troops and helicopters would have £1 billion in construction costs and £7 billion by buying less F-35s.
